• It's a type of Feldspar that displays a metallic reflection due to inclusions of impurities such as hematite and copper

• The metallic flash is referred to as “aventurescence” and is a result of tiny scales or platelets within the stone

• It is believed the Vikings used Sunstone as a navigation tool using its gleaming characteristics to provide directional cues
