🧡 It was discovered while miners were initially searching for ocean jasper

🧡 It is mined primarily by local tribespeople

🧡 Often also referred to as “Desert Jasper” and sometimes mistaken for Ocean Jasper

🧡 It is a type of opaque chalcedony with earthy tones resembling the desert

🧡 Polychrome is typically multicolored with hues ranging from orange, brown, beige, light blue, grey, pink, and red, caused by iron and other oxide mineral inclusions

🧡 It is a sedimentary rock found in metamorphic deposits

🧡 Results from volcanic activity, sedimentation, and various geological processes over hundreds of thousands of years

🧡 Polychrome has a Mohs hardness of 7
